Digestive System of Unicron - Side A (excerpt)
Digestive System of Unicron - Side C (excerpt)

From the self-titled double cassette (gb3). Early work from Aaron Hibbs. The first track is tape-spliced, ring-modulated harsh noise & the second is a documentation of the actual splicing.

Caldwell - The Beautiful And TheDamned (excerpt)

From the split cassette with Sodium (gb7). Caldwell was a sound-specific project using nothing but a destroyed acoustic guitar and some mics as source. No effects, just blow-out.

Cock ESP - Trousers Drop in Downtown Winterland

From the split 3" CDR with Brutum Fulmen. Less beating the shit out of each other & more actual sound work. Standing up and fighting for class clowns everywhere.

Goat - Hallowed Be Thy Goat

From the split 3" CDR with Marax (gb22). Goat comes full blast. Does he know any other way? Pedal destruction with ultimate metal intro. Twice as long as most of his live sets.

Miguel Tomasin - Ormis Votas

From the split 3" CDR with Reynols (gb23). On gb23, Reynols and Miguel both played their own versions of the same track. While Reynols droned out, Miguel had a different idea.

Sistrum - Hands Beckon Part Three
Sistrum - Hands Beckon Part Four

From the "How Can The Red Dusts Blow Here?" CDR (gb24). A break from his usual lo-fi noise stylings, this album brought out Sistrum's acoustic strumming, on par with the greats in the field.

Haters - The Thinking Ross Did #20

From the split 3" CDR with Radiosonde (gb25). Handheld calculator, sandpaper, contact mics & enough amplification to vibrate a city block.

Noumena & Sodium - Akron, OH
Noumena & Sodium - Pittsburgh, PA

From the "Live Collaborations" CDR (gb26) documenting our summer 2000 tour. Quartets of junk noise, trumpets, tape manipulation and other stuff. Recorded straight to a walkman.

Luasa Raelon - Bile & Invective (excerpt one)
Luasa Raelon - Bile & Invective (excerpt two)

From the "Bile & Invective" CS (gb28). Theremin, samplers, synths & layers of effects combine for a nightmare carnival soundtrack. This one is slightly less dark than his recent works.

Phroq - Freqency Ronin

From the split CDR with Guilty Connector (gb33). Harsh noise with underlying "world music" vibes. Phroq's presentation almost single-handedly resparked my interest in harsh work. I owe him.

Jason Talbot - I Meant It At The Time

From the "Getting In The Way of Progress" CS (gb36). Third track from the a-side of this kller turntable manipulation cassette. Familiar with Talbot or not, this one's a must.

Sudden Infant- Lucas & Vincent

From the "S.I.s Turntable Cookbook" CDR (gb37). Speaking of turntable manipulation... A different take from our European brother. Still one of my favorite gmby releases.

Crak Sturgeon - Fog Day Gun (exceprt)

From the split CS with Mike Shiflet (gb38). I don't know what to say about Crank Sturgeon. He's a fish-head-wearing nudist noise monger. You either get it or you don't. But you should.

John Wiese & Andy Ortmann - Fanclub

From the "Fanclub" square lathe 8" (gb46). LA dude & Chicago dude got together & played/recorded in Paris. This is the first track from the second side.

Knurl - Perforce

From the "Magnetomotive" CDR (gb48). Piercing and shrill, "Magnetomotive" is for true harsh heads only. It's metallic, but scathing beyond even Knurl's usually high standards.

Mike Shiflet - Burgandy Organza

From the "Ribbons" CS (gb50). More chaotic than the other three tracks on this release, "Burgandy Organza" is a cut-and-paste, sliced-up recording or a dying contact mic bursting in & out of life.
